Abdulmanap, father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, dies from COVID-19

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father of UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, passed away after complications from COVID-19 infection, the management team said on Friday.

Innaa illaahi wa innaa ilaihi raajioon. To Allah we belong and to Him is our return. May Allah forgive him and grant him paradise without account. May Allah give sabr to Khabib and the family and rejoin them in the everlasting paradise. Aameen.

Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib’s manager posted in Twitter in Arabic:

Translation: “Praise to Allah, who said: ‘All that is on earth will perish, but will abide forever the face of your Lord full of majesty and honor.’ I ask Allah to bless the deceased with his mercy, and to give your believing hearts patience despite the pain and to bring us together with our loved ones in heaven. To Allah we belong and to Him is our return.”

Abdulmanap was in a serious condition since May. Khabib had traveled back to his home in Dagestan, Russia when lockdown measures were implemented.

Having been treated initially in his native Dagestan, army veteran Abdulmanap was flown to a military hospital in Moscow when his condition worsened.
